Vanitas Triptych

I created three digital artworks of vanitas still lifes for a group show in LA’s Chinatown. These works were meant to challenge how I have approached themes of identity and belonging in my past works, predominantly through food and nostalgia. My pieces seemed at odds with the show’s theme of “Faith, Hopes, and Dreams”, a celebration of immigrant dreams, but I wanted to take familiar elements and compositions and reflect a shift in mindset and tone in my personal works going forward.
