Hey There
Akshay Maheshwari is a second-generation Indian in the United States. A high school student, he's passionate both about his Asian-American community and their artwork. To bring these two identities together, he created NAYA to showcase Asian-American artists in all mediums.
All About This Page
NAYA is a page made to showcase the art of Asian-Americans. An often forgotten group, the diaspora of Americans that come from the East often struggle with their identity in a new world where it seems so binary. Expression is a beautiful way to connect to who you are, and those featured here use art in all forms to fine that connection.

This page was created as a platform for those who choose to express themselves through artwork and who are Asian-American. Naya is Hindi for new, representing a newer view of the East: the Asian-American experience in essence.
Through this page you'll be able to find art you can relate or artists to support. Art is an outlet for so many, and for these artists, it's a way of life. The artist's journey is a vulnerable path with much plight. By supporting NAYA and supporting those who are featured, you can help those on this path.

For as the sculptor Ruth Aiko Asawa said, “Art is doing. Art deals directly with life.”
